Dantés Publisher: Ediciones Leyenda Theme: Freedom Format: Literature Pages: 88 Dimensions: 21 cm x 13.7 cm Weight: 125 g Code: 9786077666257 "A Brief History of Mexican Independence" - Book: 88 Pages - Dimensions: 21 cm x 13.7 cm - With the entry of the Army of the Three Guarantees, the long-awaited day arrived when, after three hundred years, Mexico was completely freed from the ties that bound it to Old Spain. Upon the proclamation of Independence, Mexico became a free and sovereign country after eleven years of struggle. The inhabitants of New Spain-Creoles, Indigenous people, and landowners-no longer wanted to share their property with the "gachupines" (Spaniards born in Spain), as the inequality was glaring. On September 15, 1810, at the end of a speech Miguel Hidalgo gave to his parishioners about their freedom, they became enthusiastic and, forming a small army of two hundred men armed with slings and clubs, began the movement.
